Rodon House Aparthotel was a home away from home!  - We travel to Thasos annually from Los Angeles because my husband's family is from Xanthi and Thasos is a short ferry ride. When we travel to Thasos we usually travel... read more with 4 other close family friends so we look for a place that it isn't too crowded and large enough to accommodate our large group. We usually travel to Chrisi Amoudia or Skala Potamias. This is the first time we explored a different part of the island and that is when I came across Rodon House Aparthotel.

We are a family of 5, my husband and I and our three children ages 14,12, and 10. We wanted to locate a place that is family friendly and we definitely found it at Rodon House. The room was extremely modern, and large enough to accommodate all 5 of us. The view was incredible, it was easy to locate the hotel, and parking was plentiful and on site. An added bonus, was this incredible beach that had beautiful natural caves. The kids loved the pool and exploring the beach. We also loved how we can walk over to the main beach - Tripiti. There was a water park that was wonderful for the kids -called The Hive. The lounge chairs were reasonably priced and the beach was not crowded.

Over the years Thasos has gotten very popular with tourists and it seems very difficult to locate a place to accommodate our large group. To our amazement not only did the hotel accommodate our large group, we had piece of mind knowing that the kids were entertained and that everything was walking distance.

Finally the hotel had an amazing Italian restaurant on site and at night it was a beautiful bar. We enjoyed the food so much that we dined at the restaurant daily. BTW- you must try the lobster pasta. This was a favorite dish for our family! I am also a big fan of wine (especially living in California) and the restaurant had an amazing wine selection. Breakfast was served daily and there was an option for everyone.

The staff was extremely friendly and got to know us on a first-name basis. I loved that we adventured into a new part of Thasos that we have never seen before. Rodon House felt like a home away from home and we will definitely be coming back next year!

The atmosphere is very friendly and informal. Members of staff are very nice. We got on very well with Tommaso.

Not being a huge resort, it has the beauty of not feeling too crowded.

The place is conveniently located just a few steps from Tripiti, one of the main beaches on the island.

We were expecting more choice and variety at breakfast.

Overall, an experience to try if you like the Greek islands and are looking for something different.

The rooms are neat with a small kitchenette and refrigerator. They have multiple sizes of room to fit various family sizes. My kids loved spending the morning in the hotel pool and the afternoon in the lagoon by the sea cave. The food at the Italian restaurant on property is authentic and delicious.

Everything you need in one place - We have been to Thasos a few times throughout the years and have had many types of accommodation: Zako Apartments (as students), Nikoleta Luxury Villa, 360 Luxury Collection and Rodon... read more House. They were all good holiday options, but I would go for Rodon if I had to choose between the 4. Why? Mainly because everything you need is right there. They have a pool for adults and a pool for kids, they have a bar by the pool, they have an italian restaurant with good al dente pasta (not boiled until dead) and fresh fish and seafood, they are right next to the beach (and I mean it is a 1 minute walk from the hotel to Tripiti), and they have sunbeds right by the Tripiti sea cave. The rooms are clean, ours had a large terrace where we spent the evenings drinking the house wine. We paid extra for breakfast and it was very good, you may have seen people complaining about it, but let me give you a bit of context : we paid very little (and I mean VERY) and got vegetables, eggs, cheese, yogurt, fruit, coffee, jam, honey and cake. I think it's safe to say that it’s good value for money and it's unrealistic and unreasonable to expect more. Last but not least, the service is great, they constantly ask if everything is fine with your stay and what else they could do for you. And the hotel is very close to a good taverna (Pirofani).
There is also taxi service of ~7 eur if you want to go to Limenaria for good coffee (we recommend the Daily Dose), for dinner (George taverna), for cocktails (Istos Cafe bar).

The food from the restaurant menu is beautiful. As a family we had a range of dishes and non of them disappointed.

Our room was a studio for 3 with 3 proper beds. This was our second choice as our first was up lots of stairs and with a camp bed for my son. The view from this (our first) room was amazing but the stairs for my husband would have been challenging each day.

The last comment I would like to make is about Dora. What a fantastic young lady and nothing is too much trouble for her. At the beginning of our stay I thought she was the owners daughter but apparently not.
If you need anything while staying here Dora is the lady to ask, she sorted car hire for us, taxis recommended places to go. Thank you so much.

L’hotel ha tanto spazio intorno, giardino ben curato, piscina, letti a baldacchino, spiaggetta privata molto particolare (vi lascio la curiosità..), un sentiero che attraversa la pineta nella quale è immerso, a due minuti a piedi dalla splendida spiaggia di Tripiti. Colazione buona, cena al Maestrale mooolto buona con cucina italo-greca (pasta fatta in casa!), personale gentile e preparato. Non do 5 stelle solo perché c’è qualche dettaglio a mio avviso da perfezionare, come aggiungere un gancio per il doccino e cambiare le ante della doccia, aggiungere shampo/balsamo/docciaschiuma oltre alle saponette,assaggiare a colazione qualcosa fatto in casa tutti piccoli accorgimenti che sicuramente i gestori (sempre attenti a soddisfare ogni esigenza)non mancheranno di curare. Very nice experience! - The hotel is 1 minute away from Tripity Beach in Limenaria and has access also to a small quiet golf with sandy beach. No problem in finding a parking place.... read more The buildings are in a steep area, with a lot of trees and tranquillity, but also a lot of stairs to climb, which is good for the daily exercise. Very friendly and hard-working staff, everything very clean, both inside the rooms and in the common areas. The pools are also very clean and near the bar and the lounge areas. There is also an outdoor playground for small children. The hosts Tommaso and Rosa are very kind and pleasant people and were really helpful with everything concerning our stay, including a doctor for our child.
We definitely recommend this place for the family vacation!
